Hi, my name is Jan Rijk and I am a photographer based in the Netherlands. I mainly take photos of gigs, festivals, and landscapes. I’ve been fascinated by live music for as long as I can remember. Actually, it was the love for live music that got me into shooting photos at concerts – It made me realise that I could combine two of the things I enjoy most with getting up close and personal with artists that I love. For me, concert photography isn’t just about a job or a profession; it’s about a passion, and the privilege to have the very best seat in the house every night. My goal is to capture moments in the best possible way as to record some good times and to share these fine moments with others.
My photos were published in international and national on- and offline magazines and websites like: New Musical Express (UK), Mojo (UK), The Wire (UK), The Quietus (UK), The Line Of Best Fit (UK), Gonzo Circus (BE), Oor, Vice, Ticketmaster, Never Mind The Hype, Muzine, Kindamuzik, Cortonville, Zware Metalen, Musicfrom, Musicmaker, Real Roots Café, Altcountry, 3voor12, 3voor12/denhaag, 3voor12/tilburg, Zoom Magazine, Digifotopro, Digifotostarter, OTOF Magazine, Tilburg Magazine, Guide to Dutch Digital Culture and 070 Magazine.
I am working and have been working as an in-house photographer for: Paard van Troje, 3voor12/denhaag, Incubate Festival, Roadburn Festival, Le Guess Who? Festival, Crossing Border Festival, Today’s Art Festival, State-X New Forms Festival, Rewire Festival, Life I Live Festival, Cross-Linx Festival, Sniester Festival, Walk The Line Festival, Summer Darkness Festival, Bazar Bizar Festival and Dag In De Branding.
